GOVERNANCE TO MANAGE ECOSYSTEM COMPLEXITY

2021 has begun with a widespread eagerness to forget the historic year we have left behind. From all parts of the world, people dedicated to generating sustainable change are striving to create new solutions to the greatest challenges of our time. These are moments of great opportunity for everyone, and are characterized by a willingness to respond to the growing sensitivity of human beings. Are we not, in short, the custodians for a healthy development of planetary life? Isn’t it our responsibility to manage this in a sustainable manner?

The authors of the articles in this edition teach us that other ways of proceeding are possible, that this organizational and social change that we are demanding is already underway with Sociocracy. It seems that the method for self-governance designed by Gerard Endenburg five decades ago is reaching the “early majority” of the Rogers Bell Curve, and that the world is prepared to consider Sociocracy as one of the key tools for managing our shared lives in this fascinating new era.
