TSG Global Newsletter – Spring 2021

Dear Reader,

It is with great enthusiasm that TSG once again presents you with diverse and compelling content in our spring newsletter. In this issue, the authors display the full power of universal principles applied to human organization. This, as you know, characterizes the Sociocratic Method.

In their articles, they discuss the relationship between entropy and synergy and their parallels in organizational management, the value of sociocratic experience in managing a successful business succession, and the remarkable affinities between Buddhism and Sociocracy.

The authors agree that our societies are in need of renewal and change, and offer a few ideas to make this possible.

Enjoy the newsletter, and enjoy your life!

RENEWING OUR LIVES, ORGANIZATIONS AND SOCIETIES

Annewiek Reijmer

The first is the Second law of Thermodynamics: energy naturally moves from a higher to a lower state of concentration, from a higher to a lower differentiation, like a river flowing from high to low ground.

According to the Second Law of Thermodynamics, after millions of years spiraling downwards, the universe will reach its lowest point as an amorphous, disorganized, undifferentiated mass in which there is no movement at all. This state is called entropy.

BUDDHISM AND SOCIOCRACY

Ngagpa Ngawang Rinchen

We are a Buddhist Community with a tradition of over 30 years. Originally established in Barcelona, the community is now active in Spain, Peru, Bolivia and Nepal.

It is a Buddhist-inspired project for personal development and a mandala of spiritual growth. A space where inner values are made visible, helping all those who want to awaken them in themselves. We seek to be a field of experimentation and practice where Buddhist philosophy can be developed, and all can learn to promote the values that bring us closer to a stable happiness.

THE 2 FACES OF SUCCESSION

Ghislaine Cimon

When the owner opened her small health food store in Quebec in 1988, was she being reckless, daring or visionary? She simply had an entrepreneurial streak. What drove her? A desire to rediscover the authenticity of the food products of Auvergne, her native land, and feed her children healthily.

After thirty-three years of sustained growth, she is now at the helm of a complex group dedicated to good food, well-being and health with her daughter as her partner.
